ok fins ground down and cleaned up.cut a 40" by 1 13/16 piece 1/8" thick aluminum.still need to grind around the one stud casting that attaches to one of the fins behind the intake flange then i can fit up the piece i cut.also picked up a used rad from an 07 yzf quad off of ebay for 48.00 which i thought was a great deal.also picked up almost all the parts for the top end minus the head gasket(babbits online had none left).so ill try service honda next hope they have it.

Are sure you're not referring to the power cord?

If it's the vents around the fan that you're talking about, that's where the air is drawn through to the radiator.

Please tell me I'm not stating the obvious.

Does anything here answer your question? If not I'm sure someone can. :-)

Hello, that is a vent whole to cool the fan motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) itself like turbo said. It probably has a hose connection because it came off of an atv and they do not want any water or debris to get in there. All the electric fan motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? ))'s I have seen have some kind of fresh air vent.

Take care.

yes the glass beading is to clean up the aluminum as much as possible for the welding.im having a close family freind who been doing aluminum hull welding for over 20yrs do the work.i weld for a living but don't have the equipment to weld aluminum, and cant justify buying a 2000.00 machine that will get used maybe a hand full of times a year.

yea guys you can go directly to works yourself and get a better deal! chucklenuts at aftershot motorspurts will try to tell you he has hid own setup, but do you really believe he knows more than Works? Works has been making shocks for Ody's long before chucklenuts at aftershot motorspurts became a dealer! Mention this site and all the rave reviews here!!!
