I am sure a few of you are getting tired of GNCC this and GNCC that well this is the LAST race until October, so everybody gets a break for a few months. but until then...

Calling all Pilots and Odysseys come to race, come to ride, you decide

Round 8

June 5 John Penton Millfield, OH

everything else is the same except if you break your pilot at PA I hope your a good wrench with lots of parts

Judging location and peeps available this should be a well attended event as well. see you there

hell yes, but i think you are asking the wrong people. just let em know your vacation starts on the 5th

I specialize in last minute dashes to and from GNCCs seems like everyone we done this year has been this way for us. pretty much soon as the race is over its done, a mad dash home and your golden. At Ohio we will shoot for the party if the weather decent but don't let that stop you.

I am going to try to make it... I have to try to come up with 4 tires that will hold air and 4 round rims....
The Pilot that I flipped end over end has 4 bent rear lower swing arms... Does anybody know where I can get 4 straight ones??? I need them fast (in 2 weeks) If I am going to make it to this race...

I like the course description for this one from the GNCC site:

"You must plan for the weather at this event. It's an awesome place to race, but it's often either bone-dry and dusty or covered in sticky Ohio mud. And sometimes it's both! That slick Ohio clay will provide little traction if it’s wet, and it will stick all over your gear and your machine. You’ve got to be tough to survive this one if it rains.

If the weather holds, the track is great, with a nice mix of fast trails with some fresh, tight stuff thrown in. There’s nothing too difficult here as far as hills or mud bogs, even when it’s muddy."

So I'm hoping for nice weather, I will take dust over sticky mud any day.

I am IN, I hope....
Hare you are right, The bent rims could have been avoided buy slowing down, the track was great for Pilots if not for the rock section. When Roy passed me inthe rocks and Trackside was behind me it became a Full on ALL OUT race!!! We were in a 3 Pilot train smoking thru the woods and mud like we were on a NASCAR track. There is not a Pilot or Pilot rider alive that would have been able to keep up (Mikey however was in the mix for a while) The only thing faster was that trian of the Top 3 UTV's, while we were together eating up the trail, they came up behind us and passed us like we were on jacks, Roy latched on to their rear bumper and I knew he was going to try to keep up and so was I..... but after about 30 seconds they were gone, The Pilots were no match for their 800++++++CC, 4 wheel drive and 4 wheel independent suspension. Those guys were flying....but for the money they got tied up in one of those machines you could buy all nine of the pilots at the race and still have enough left over to go buy a new corvette.
You ODY guys need to get your butts out to a race...!!!

which side is leaking? have you ever had the axles out before? it could turn in to a headache if the axles are rusted in.

anyone racing in the GNCC should Hoserize there tierods and rear links heck everyone should just do it so they don't have to worry about them.

yes just a seal, I would leave it in until after the race, fill it to the proper level right before you ride it, they will leak for a long time without damage as long as you keep it filled.

after Ohio do the full tear down everything afastcar said might have to spilt the trans for the output shaft

You can also tilt the Pilot on its side and over fill the trans by a few cups of oil too

Hey PilotGuy, just junk that Pilot and lets make that our PARTs Pilot. We need one to part out. You are bound to have twisted up that frame in your endo. I got dibs on the following parts: mirror, seat belt pad, rear bumper, skid plate.

In watching the you tube videos back and looking at the race, all the kudos needs to go to Hare. At the end of lap 1, this guy had almost everyone in front of him. Watch this video at 58 seconds in.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=twEsq9VixPU

The order is MIKEY, PilotGuy, Roy, Max, Trackside, then way back is Hare.

Hare, you put in a very respectable ride to come from back there and finish in Second. Your lap times show it too, very consistent, 6th place up to 2nd. Attaboy HARE.

If Pilot Guy thinks he stands a chance of beating you in the series, he better come up with a better plan than he has now. He just junked his fast Pilot and the only one he has now is the beat up #5.

Mikey, what happened to that lead?

I don't even have a chance to finish in the top 3 in the seris points. So, my "PLAN" is to WIN the next 3 races to at least be able to claim the most wins for 2010... even if I have to turn pilots into piles of scrap parts... Oct 24th there will be alot of Pilot parts for sale on ebay, maybe even a rim that will hold air... "If You aint first, Your Last!"

yes way back trust me I was quite upset when all you bitches came by me, i knew i had to keep my shit together and hope you guys had trouble and that's all that help me come back, well except for you not cooperating.

while tossing praise you whipped us by 2 minutes and freaking Roy had a full minute on my best laptime, god help us if he can keep his wheels round. You need to get him to do some more runs, you too John. This is clean, safe, fun with a capital F

and pilotguy5 the way I heard it is "You got to finish to Win" never know when someone might DNF, Maybe we can have one drop? I would be game

It appears that the series does allow ONE DROP. So really, only the best 5 races in the 6 race series will count. this is from the GNCC site.

Quote:
Class Championships will be determined by a Team's best finishes in a minimum number of 5 events. A Team must enter a minimum of 5 events in order to be eligible for series awards and national class ranking.

Is it ok to just come out and run? I would love to race but I work on Saturdays, and would only be able to come out on Sunday. I have a bone stock 89, a bad back, and almost no sence.

No, its Bikes only on Sunday no ATVs or UTVs at all and the only time we get to be on the course is during the UTV race, so to run it you would need to get there by 2pm Saturday to sign up and such

When i say just ride it, I mean just ride easy during the race, there is absolutely no reason to fly around the track unless you are looking to win. My back isn't the greatest but this don't effect it, if you push hard its more of an upper body and neck sore, but if your PilotGuy5 and endo several times, I am betting its an all over stiffness.
