Here's what I did on Sun morn and arvo, what did you do? :-)
We are in the last month of winter here,August, and it was abbasolutely perfect! Bout 25-26C,80F,mild easterly wind(which is our summer off land direction here)
Perfect direction as the carpark/pits area was upwind of the track. We had a great turnout of buggies, needed it too,as otherwise it's just too hard to maintain the club.etc.
If the numbers keep up,who knows, might get the Northam Speedway to accept us again.
I had a unbuggyilevable day,all went right...until...all the winners from their own races then raced against eachother.I got the jump for a while, till Ian's 1400KwakaCuda nosed in front on the first turn outside which then set him up good for the next left hand S bend.I kept up to him till his motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) shit itself halfway around, then I was in the lead, woo hoo!
Well it did'nt last long.Coming out of the last bend prior the straight, the CV shaft let go,and I parked it in the midfield!!!! Damn!
Anyway here's some vids, for some reason the quality is way down from normal.
Rich,get ya corfee Mate!

HOLY BAZ MAN!!!! The drake is hauling. It sounds a little different than it did. Any mods ? It sure sounds like its pulling more r's. Its around 4:00 p.m. here so I had the privilage of watching with a few cold ones. Cold ones always make it better. In the second heat race that dude has some power, is that the 1400 kawie. All that racing got my blood pumping. I really think it's time to leave that old pilot motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) on the bench and install a twin. The twin sound sweet. I guess the new house can wait a while longer. Thanks for sharing. If I ever win the lottery you can bet I will find me a tiger and come visit. Come on lottery.

Looks like some one opened up a can of woop a _ _ on the cud's. that's how to enjoy a cup of coffee.

Turbo if I win the lottery I wil devently plan on coming down and picking up stixs and who ever else want to come. Then you can load up your stuff in a C-130 for the flight to Basz land. Now who we gona get to fly it. UMMMMM. Any takers out there. Wonder if I got try to fly it, I mean crash it. Na I leave that to a pro, flying that is. I do want to add a chaute to the pilot and drive out the back at 30,000 ft though and land in Bazes back yard. Any jetting tricks for 30,000 feet.

I got a dream.

Bingo! We have a Image folks!
I knew you have to circum to the charms of Daisy. :-)

I thought it would be due to just lack of maintanaince, dirt inside, but was more to it.
When I was tightening up the puller bolt,it just slipped down without the aweful bang and clutch dismount that ALWAYS gives me more greys!
Thought I might have stripped the internal threads, lucky not. Then upon closer inspection noticed a lot of brown grease all over the crank seal and taper and the clutch.
So the leaking seal+grease+dirt made the TRA clutch a bit loose, plus all the crap inside affecting the roller arms etc for max travel.
Thanks to that Kevin Oleksiw-aka CS1006 from Dootalk for a suposedly all new recon crank+case. To those that don't know the OEM grease for the crank bearings is mean't to be Isoflex Topas NB52.
It's a pale beige colour, dear, but the only stuff mean't to be used.Std grease DOES NOT.He assured me it was and to OEM specs.Plus new seals?????
The ramps where the rollers run were only showing the shiney marks for 1/2 the length, proving the shift out was not happening beyond that point.
Lots of very fine aussie Bulldust, compacted by the centrifugal forces packed in all nooks and cranys hindering the full performance/functions of internal parts!
Now need to buy Isoflex+NEW seals and do it myself.

I can't believe tho that with all this crap/probs of the TRA clutch, that it did so well at Bullsbrook Meet?

Hoosier, don't dare get rid of the preview function!!! I would be lost without it! :-)

Was lucky enough to borrow a spring tester from one of my customers.Tested some springs, and while at it,swapped for another slightly higher engagement force, with lower full shift out force needed.
Will see if it's any diff at next Meet,Tammin,200K's E of Perth in the farming districts,Sept 4,can't wait.

Bugeye was this the clucth you had on in the vids. I had mentioned that it sounded different as it was pulling more rpms. Was this the case. Could you tell me more on the funtion of the parts of the clutch and what effects what. I need input. I have not ever worked on one like that. What controls the over ride the spring for upshift. Treat me like a probie please. Expalin what is fixed and whats not. What move and the relation ship to other parts. Thanks Adnoh

Greenskeeper Willy???
Had to look that one up Houser, never could see myself watching the simplesons. :-)
I must be one of the world's few that have never bothered watching it...plus no mobile-cell phone either.
I want to hang on to the simple, purer, uncluttered way of life for long as poss......F--k! I must be gettin' old? :-)
Was funny to read about Willy tho, plus the family gave me their spin on him as well. :-) Stuff the Hagis tho! :-)

Rich watch this animation on the TRA(Total Range Adjustable) clutch,it gives a good visual to how it functions.
http://biphome.spray.se/mandorallen/fil ... ystem.html
It basically operates the opposite to what your used to with other clutches,eg instead of the convex curved ramp moving/pushing/swinging against the fixed roller via centrifugal force,it's the roller/arm that swings against the concave ramp to actuate the sheaves. Also the roller arm bolt is eccentric/cam like, that can be indexed into 5-6 positions, changeing the characteristics of the ramp slightly.Another feature is altering the roller pin with diff length screw ins for diff weight change.
In summary you can get diff weight rollers plus external sizes, diff weight roller arms, hollow or solid rollers, roller pins adjustable via diff lengths of screw in grub screws, ramp eccentric bolt has 6 diff positions that move either closer or farther the ramp to roller shift, diif combo of spring rates.
This would be an awesome clutch for the mighty Pilot/Ody if it could be adapted.Never tried myself, but would be worth investigating.

One of my customers is a speedway car builder,so got him to custom make a HD 2 long row alu radiator for the Drak.
RooTax has been running at 90C(210F) in full race mode, but should be running at 55-60C(150F) for optimal power zone and obvious longevity.
Only needed to tweak the 2 top rad cleats away a bit,to compensate for the thicker core, and redrill the 2 bottom brackets.
Also added 2 side bungs, one for my varaible/adjustable thermo fan switch, and one for a new coolant loss sensor, that will warn me via LED light and alarm in the event of a leak.
You can also wire up the coolant loss sensor to oil and or temp sensors to shut the motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) :-) down to prevent further damage.Acts like a vital signs Engine fuse.
