Here is a 2.5lbs abc fire extinguisher. It is rechargable, comes with a mounting bracket. Its metal not plastic like the kiddie crapola. Is 2.5lbs big enough or do I need a 5lb one?

Here is a econo strobe light.

I think the strobe light linked here isn't what they are looking for... Look at the garbage trucks in your area, they might have a bright flashing amber light...

I'm planning on going and riding that day and watching the race that evening. Looking forward to the race. I'm not a racer, but sure a good spectator. :-) I called and if you pay to ride that day the race is included. The race should start around 7:00 or so. I was told that all the nonracers had to have their bikes on the trailer before the closing of the park at 7:00 pm. I was kinda disapointed because i wanted to ride out and watch the race from different spots. but i guessi understand that the park must be closed so no one gets the way of the race. the girl at the desk said the best place to watch the race was from the main entrance. I'm not sure about that. Does anyone know if the race follows the orange arrows and markers?

You should go enter the race if you can it would be fun don't worry about the "race" thing just go and ride at a pace at which your having fun, it always seems that plenty of those all wrapped up in the "race" mindset do something where they never finish or something that puts them at the back of the pack.

You can check out the track during the day before the race learn it know the hazards?

You could get a good view of the entire race just driving along slow maybe even stopping to take pictures in a safe location of the other racers.

Yeah that's a lot more reasonable, 75.00 is ok too long as they are going to pay back most of the take.

we have decided to just turn this into a weekend ride... racing in the dark isnt our thing.. plus the communication with the race organizers hasn't been anything more than ambiguity and more questions.

stoneman, rmesser, and I will be there.. anyone else gonna join the fun?

Keepin mind it may not be that dark - with the hour time change it shouldn't get dark until the end of the race.

So does that mean there will be no pilots or revolts in the race?

Ya like 15 miles into it. Interstate 74 east cross illinois / indiana border - time change - exit 15 to your left takes you to attica, exit 15 right takes you to Turkey run state park - great canoing and camping.

So I live in Peoria Il and its getting dark around 7:45 or so, that would be 8:45 badlands time. Majority of the race will be light.

I think sheldon fireworks is exit 8 or so - you can pickup some fireworks to take home.

Race starts at 7pm according to website. Likely wont start on time. Sunset in Attica today is 8:19pm. Prolly 8pm by race day. Race is supposed to be 3 hrs long.
I don't like the idea of my kid or myself being broke down in pitch dark with @ 40 full sized trucks and 30 utvs WOT (Wide Open Throttle).
I have seen first hand how those idiots race in the daytime.

Hey guys - I will not be able to make it this Saturday. My mother-in-law went into the hospital and has blod clots in her legs. My wife told me I could go with my son, but I just don't feel right doing that. Anyway, be safe and take some photos to post when you return.
