Up for grabs!!

Gauging interest for an ATVR ported pilot cylinder. This is an extra pilot cylinder that must be re-sleeved and or re-plated as I believe it was on its last bore or close to it when it went tits up. I do not have any history on this cylinder and or the porting specs that ATVR did, as I purchased this cylinder some time ago with some other parts that I was seeking at the time. The cylinder does not have head studs installed. I will snap some pictures tonight or tomorrow when I get a chance and post them on here for all to see. Can this be a decent backup ported cylinder? - Yes, but only With a re-sleeve or re-plate by a knowledgeable company or cylinder shop that specializes in this area. This could be that extra backup/spare ported cylinder you may have been thinking about acquiring for a rainy day. I have enough backups for me at this time, and I am working on clearing/cleaning out the shop a bit. As always, please feel free to ask any questions that you might have and I will do my best to try and answer them. Here are a few pics of the porting on the cylinder. I know we all like lots of pics!!!!!!

Make an offer

Thanks again -:: = :-)

A chunk of that sleeve is missing looks to me that someone already tried to bore the cylinder out to install a sleeve and a chunk of the factory sleeve broke out.

You would have to call someone that sells sleeves like LA sleeve and see if another sleeve can be installed in that cylinder, it would have to be a oversize sleeve.

Just a guess but you would first need to bore the entire steel sleeve out then measure the hole call see if they have a sleeve and or just send it to LA sleeve as is for them to evaluate.

An alternative to throwing it away would be to install the special made CR500 sleeve that has the port openings to match the Pilot cylinder, LA sleeve does this too.
I have one of these cylinders in my shop http://www.pilotodyssey.com/500cc.htm

FL670 had one of these Pilots viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1145&start=0

Once the cylinder was made into a 500 then you need a speedchaser head with a special dome for the 500cc.

Another alternative would be to have a aluminum sleeve made (LA sleeve again) have it installed, ported up the way you want then send it out have the aluminum plated.

The cylinder is salvageable but fixing that cylinder will not be cheap no matter what route is taken.

You might ask speedchaser if he can install a sleeve for you and how much .

I called L.A. Sleeve about a week or two ago asking about my ktm380 he did the work on it. And just for bleeps and giggles I asked him about doing my pilot cylinder because I'm at 81.5 . He said let me check. Came back on the line and said sure can it will be 320......or 360.00 to do. I wrote the number down I can check it in the morning. Hope that helps

That price sounds about right, you happen to find out just the cost of the sleeve? It seems to me the last time I asked for a sleeve price it was around 100.00 ?

Also guys keep in mind shipping cost to send a cylinder will be about 15-20 bux each way.

Bad time of the year to be selling the parts its out of season for most our users, that being said its good time of the year to buy parts for the guy who likes to be prepared for the season, how ever too many (including myself sometimes) wait until the last minute to get their spare parts  lol

Bump for someone looking to create an FL big bore pilot..........Or resleve and match the existing port work back to a 400-465... The great thing about Texas is that we can ride year round so never realy have an off season so to speak :-)

Well I figure I will be throwing this cylinder on Fleabay next week and see what happens. This is your last chance to make some offers for this cylinder!!!!!!!! I would way rather see this go to one of our members and follow the big bore build thread on here then selling to the outsiders... Let me know before this coming Wednesday.

Is there a part number for the la sleeve cr500 sleeve with the 400 ports in it? Not finding anything on their site. Is there any more info on this mod anywhere?
