Need to quite down the Stadium Lite
Built FL350 motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) - DG pipe and muffler turned straighty down - but it is still obnoxiously loud.

My son wants to race it this year, but it will have to pass the noise test (and it is not even close )

I have plenty of room to add what ever - but will not mess with the DG pipe.
Any ideas?

You may want to try an FMF Quiet Core II. It is not extremely quiet like the name implies but it does make it considerably quieter than the short DG so called silencer. I have this on my DG pipe and am quite happy with it. It quiets the loud snap that the DG produces. I don't know what the DB level is but it made a substantial difference. Here ar some pictures for comparison.

The kit I purchased was around 100 bucks and comes with an adapter pipe (didn't need it) and the wide band clamp that you see in the pictures.

I second the FMF opinion. I like the power increase from the DG pipe and use an FMF to battle the noise. The longer of FMF the better too. Find a CR500,KX500, etc stinger. Repack it just before the sound test will also probably help.

If your getting the FMF (great choice) get the one with the built in spark arrestor, spark arrestors DO NOT reduce your engines power, this makes you legal to ride on public lands, it comes stamped forestry approved lots of guys running them on their Pilots and Odysseys.

One of the reasons I chose the FMF was the spark arrestor. Out west you ain't ridin no place without one!

Yes, there is some. But the main culprit is the 2 stroke 'zing' that is just plain annoying

My stock Oddy sounded good with this set up, but the 350 motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) in the Stadium Lite it is just plain horrid -feels like your ears are bleeding - no fun to drive. Will look around for a CR500 silencer.

Nice set up. FIrst thing I would do is find out the test pramiteres and then take and have it tested. I agree the zing of the dg is an ear ringer for sure. Maybe look at wraping the pipe with some wrap to help assorb the tone the pipe admits. When I observed some testing they stood a distance behind the bike and pointed it at the output end of the silencer and reved it to a certain rpm . So just how to test a silencer pointing down,no idea. Anybody that attend the gnc races observe any testing. If they measure the output of the silencer I bet yull pass. If they point it at the baffle cones maybe not. If they were to stand behind the machine and test froma certain distance than maybe look it to a deflection set up to redirect and baffle the zing away from the rear.Insert some bars and wrap with material to asorb sound and not melt. The pipe wrap may effect jetting set up a little not sure but should consider anaway. Factory 45 was working on a silencer quieting project for the pilot. Agaiin nice set up,would like to look it over some time.
