So, my Ody has always ran pretty rich and smokey since I got it. I run it at 32:1 and haven't ever got around to pulling the main jet to see what was in there. I just figured it was a bit too big from the previous owner. As long as it wasn't fouling plugs I was ok with it. Anyways, was out at Glamis on President's Day weekend and I finally fouled a plug which was odd considering that at Glamis you're about -200 BSL in elevation. Anyways, swapped plugs and off we went. Next day, it left me stranded. Got spark. Got fuel. No go. Got it home, compression test cold, 70 ft. lbs. D'oh. Bright idea, pull the reed cage. Sure enough. Here's what we found:

So, I called up Randy at Odyssey Salvage and ordered up a VForce3 reed cage and one those fancy billet reed spacers. Got the VForce3 reed cage in yesterday, dropped shipped from another warehouse since Randy didn't have it in stock. The part number says it's for a 86-01 CR250. Is that the right one? I only ask because the "stuffer" seems to kinda choke the incoming flow area down a lot and there's not reed stops. But, if that's what everyone else is running....
I totally trust Randy, but I'm just wondering if the guys at the 3rd party warehouse shipped the right thing.
