First of all rnrnick and rusty should have come! Tech was non existant! You guys would have had a blast!
The course was awsome! Had some tough rocky sections, some major whoops and a lot of smooth flat strtaight-*-ways! There were also several sandy washes! Everything you could want in a desert rtace!!!!
I was under the assumtion this was going to be a 3 lap race for everyone! Turns out the first finisher was the one who got 3 laps, then the checkered flag dropped for everyone! I didn't know this, and would have planned differently if I had known!!! I started my first lap with maybe 30 minute of testing on my new bump steer and front end on the pilot! I also just got my FOX coilovers back from a fresh rebuild and revalve! So my plan was to learn the course (missed 2 turns) and get used to the new stuff! The front end worked great!!! Easy turning, no feedback thru the rough stuff! I need to align it better it pulls to the left and when I get up to top speed the tires wobble with too much slime!even before I did the bump steer kit I had the wobble problem!?
My race ended earlier than I wanted it to! I hit a rock really hard on mile 12 of my second lap! Bent the rim enough to loose air! Had I have known the race was near over I would have continued the rest of the course with the flat! Instead I called and informed of where I was and asked for some air! This is when they told me to come backtracking to the pits! Crushed I strtapped back in and had to drive 10 miles back with the flat! I now know what arm pump is!
I am glad I didn't bring the rv out to this race! I feel like I was shorted when I was under the impression I was doing 90 miles period!

Change those wheel bearings, its been my experience when you hit something with the front tire on a Pilot hard enough to bend the stock rim and deflate the tire the bearings no matter how good they feel now FAIL soon after, like within 100-200 miles.

Your going to ride Parker area?

Need directions?

South of Parker on 95 look for Shea road take that 3-4 miles until you go down a big hill pull off any place and ride, camp, paved road goes about 15 miles then turns to gravel you can park and ride about any place, their is a big wash that runs east and west along the south side of Shea road once you get to the bottom of the big hill, that wash actually crosses the road at that point that is also part of race course.

GAS is usually cheaper in Parker than right off 40 or in Lake Havasu City, usually by .10 a gallon their is about 20 gas stations in Parker so I assume everybody comes from CA to fill up town that size usually would have about 4 gas stations lol.

NO just the a arms I BORROWED off of your ppe... testing the bump steer I made! Next I will replace all the tie rod ends with new, then duplicate the a-arms and use the fox coilovers I have... then the ppe will be put back together with a new bumpsteer kit for it too...

Yes for now... I am planning on making a set that will use the FOX coilover shocks I have! They will look like these except the bottom shock mount will be on top of the lower arm instead of below/thru the bottom... I will be back in the desert early this week testing these some more, then will race the triple eee in Arizona, then back to Texas on the 7th... The pilot will be raced at the texas race also by a friend...

Turbo ma be time to put some johnny balls in the front tires, Mr. Rim buster. Last trip to the dunes My futher son in law busted up three sets before I traileed it and told him he was done. Not to mention the two tierods. I think I will get him a fl 250 for the next trip or I'll over jet his ride. Good luck on your racing adventure.

I am buying some beadlocks and rim gaurds from OMF for the triple EEE! After bending wheels TWICE in the last two races!!! I also am having rimgaurds made for the pilot wheels! A 3/8" circle cut to fit inside the curled lip then welded into place!!!
