Great videos and pics guys, track looks like a lot of fun! I'm in for the next race if I'm in town, just getting over heavy head cold and cough so would have been no fun. Trying to get my act together for this weekend at Ocotillo, anyone interested in camping or just showing up for a day, hit me up on here or PM me...

That is some of the best pilot racing video I've seen to date, great job! I loved that last video, super crisp and clear. I didn't read the description so I got a fun surprise at 5:05 when you helped that fella over onto his roof. His rear suspension set up wasn't doing him any favors.

Thanks for posting!!

If you watch the 3rd turn after the start of that video there is a rollover in front of all of us too. From my point of view it didnt look like Nick hit that car. The other car just got sideways but from the video there was some unavoidable contact there.

so i didnt have much luck with my pilot after i burnt up my piston in the 1st heat but I got all the bugs out of my 350. If i can only get the back tire to hold air lol. But i tell ya, im getting to old to drive a 350 like that. Bone stock and im feeling it. Some of the coolest people drive superlites.

What caused the poofkaboom?

Works shocks on the rear cost less than a trip to the back doctor :-)

haha i just left my back doctor. I was way out of wack. Funny thing about jetting, If you don't check it. It will cost you. I wanted to port it anyway. So its in the shop now.

So guys... is this going to become a regular thing? Would there be races through the summer?

Pictures from event will be posted online for viewing tomorrow. The ones from me at least, Chad is going to be uploading some more once he is done editing his.

Remember all purchases are going to Peter to compensate for the money lost in this last event. We all had fun but need to help get that money back to be able to have another race! Dig deep into those pockets! :-)

We used to run Pilots in mid Florida summer heat and humidity and they ran fine. Was so hot, when I got back to my truck I'd peel my soaking shirt off, sit in the cab with the AC full blast and then put another shirt on while the sweaty one lay out in the sun drying for next stint. You can ride in the heat or go to the steam room... I know which one I'd rather do :-)
If it's that hot in Riverside then perhaps not a great idea, would be great to find a cooler area to race or just ride in Southern California during our hot months!

Yeah, I felt pretty bad about sending him on his lid. I stopped and helped PeterKay flip him back on his wheels, so we did a restart. That pilot must have a gynx on it, every time it goes to the track it is on its lid, even with different owners/operators! I think that kid flipped it a total of 3 times that day! It is shoubadaba's old pilot, he did the LT suspension front and rear, I wonder if the rear ride height is too high or something? I really like my GoPro HD1, but still wouldn't mind getting the new HD2, just waiting for price to come down a bit.

As often as money allows I guess. It costs $1000 to rent the track. PeterKay11 fronted the money and charged $70 per entry for the race. I believe he did come up short too. Really sucks for him since he wasn't even racing, he was coordinating and flagging. If anyone is interisted in buying pics from the race, as Chevy1278 said, the money will go towards funding these events. I will be awaiting seeing these pics and buying a few for sure.

The next race is tentatively scheduled for May, plenty of time to prep!

Low 90's is about all I can handle for a racing event. I'm a fat guy, blubber and sweat don't mix! LOL

Next race tentatively May.... I will be gone for 2-3 weeks sometime during May/June so the sooner I can get a date in May, the sooner I can commit. I have a friend who just got a pilot and is a raceaholic so I'd say he'd be very interested. Obviously numbers are key to this venue happening and after watching the videos and seeing the track, it would be rude not to make this a success.

Riverside it isn't as humid as Florida during the summer. Just make sure to have enough water and have some sort of canopy for shade. It isn't an unbearable heat. Schedule some races!!!

"rear ride height is too high or something?"

Real racers don't use AC in the summer while driving thier trucks, they use the heater!

Yeah, just a thought I had about the rear maybe being too high putting the CG up higher and making it easier to tip. Aside from the time I bumped him over, he rolled 2 more times! I am wondering if the shocks need some tuning or something.

Did any of the video from your hood mounted camera turn out good? Was wondering if you are going to post any of it up? I am still working on a good mounting spot for my camera. Might try the same as you did with it mounted to the chin area of the helmet.

You are just missing a square bracket symbol to make these links work. I added it to your link above but had to remove the brackets at the beginning and end to get it to show up correctly.

At the bottom right of your post there is an edit button. You can use this to fix your posts but not delete them. As far as I know you will have to ask hoser to delete them.

Triple P had his camera on the hood mount for the main. I think his camera has issues and it didnt come out. I see now the HD camera doesnt shoot as good through the rock guard as the old camera. I will use the hood and rear facing mounts next time
