I know personally of certain scumbags in California whose whole life revolve around getting disability. They do not even wait to be unemployed, or even have a job for that matter. When they turn 18, they are told how to go in and claim "depression" and get monthly disability payments. I really do not know how it works but it has been going on for at least 2 generations, total scum bags......

Sorry, this just hits a raw nerve, especially when the economy is in the condition that it is in. These are healthy young people with strong bodies that could be doing something, but yet, they are taught from childhood how to scam the system. And those of us that pay taxes have to support them....really sux.....

Yup that is one side of the problem I have not experienced it personally people faking a disability to get a lifetime of benefits but I am sure it happens every system is exploited sooner or later, its a shame it puts a strain on the SS system the SS system was not designed or intended for these leaches.

The other side of the problem is you moved too many jobs outside the USA I was 100% against this including NAFTA since day one and warned problems like these would happen, you cant eliminate a persons job then send them to unemployment then import a estimated 12 million illegal immigrants that are willing to undercut anybody's job in America not only less wages no benefits they are willing to work for less than a living wage because they move 5 family's into one house and share expenses they are temp workers in a few years they move back South with all our money, strained our benefits, paid little or no taxes, lowered our standard of living etc.

When you eliminate jobs by outsourcing to another country you need to retrain and place the workers, you send them to unemployment when that runs out if they cant find a job for a living wage they are going to sign up for welfare and or go on disability.

Greed has a price, pay now, pay later, sad part is those making most the profits and benefiting the most off of the elimination of jobs pays little or no taxes and the cost is put mostly on the middle class and the average consumer.

Imagine how many disabled Americans we will be paying 10 years from now.

No easy fix now, no easy answers, trying to undo the damage that programs like NAFTA has done will take decades to undo, by time it happens we will have another 10 million getting disability checks, every heard of someone getting off disability?

I see this crap and it makes me sick. Where do these people think the government gets money from??? They havn't even thought about it. Ask someone and watch the deer in the headlights look. A lot of our people have no vision for the future. It really makes me feel bitter toward people sometimes. They're more worried about what other people think of them than their own well being. For example I believe in a debt free lifestyle and drive my old beater truck to work and get laughed at by a bunch of broke morons double my age. They try to impress each other by the cars they drive and how big of mortgage they can cripple themselves with. All the while I'm here doing the right thing saving up and paying cash for things, investing for my retirement, staying out of debt. Trying to use my head and gotta get looked at like I'm weird for wanting to be self sufficient. I'm glad to know all these children running around in adult bodies are gonna be dependent on the "government" at retirement. It's really Makes me wonder if it's even worth investing for retirement. They'll find a way to take it from me and I'll have to see an escalade sitting in front of the government housing projects on my way to work.  depressing subject
