Hi guys,

Do any of you good people here know of a concert in Manchester, Tennessee, called Bonnaroo? It is supposed to be a 3 or 4 day event i think. My wife wants to go this year and i am a little concerned about her travelling to the US on her own for a music festival, if she was going trail riding with pilot guys that would be different of course, lol.

Would it be safe for her to attend the concert on her own, apparently she will either be camping on site or if she can still get a motel room she will comute via public transport.

Any information you can give me will be appreciated.

Cheers

Have you search the web for it?

Done a news search?

Find out the town where the event is located do another search for that towns news, find that news papers web site search for past articles ready any replies from the users to get a feel for the event.

Locate the law enforcement that covers the are where the event is located send them a email tell them your concerns ask how many were arrest were connected to this event in the past.

Really have spare time locate the hospitals in the area contact them ask how many people ended up in their hospital during one of the events.

Do the same for the area where you plan on getting a motel.

I know nothing about the event but I bet its not going to be much different than any other similar event any place in the world all the dangers will probably be about the same.

Hi Hoser,

I was kind of hoping that some of the guys here might have actually been to this event and could give a first hand account of the type of person it attracts, nothing beats first hand knowledge. There are some festivals over here in Australia that i would let my kids go to and others i wouldn't go to myself with a swat team for protection.

Both my wife and i are ex Police officers, i guess that kind of taints my outlook on these events, especially when i can't just drive there and get her if some thing goes wrong.

I have had a look at the Bonnaroo web site, which is informative about the event itself. To be honest i never thought to ask the Police or hospitals.

Might be a non event now, she tells me camping costs are $1050, can that be right? Add in the airfares $2,500 plus spending money, plus ticket costs, i could almost buy another Pilot for that.

Thanks guys

I go to college about 30 miles south of Manchester. Decent enough area in TN. Never been to the event but know plenty who have. Most people who attend are young stoners. I would think concert events in this day are very controlled.

Buy another Pilot and the DVD

that's a lot of money to spend on one event.
