I sent a email (earlier this week) to this track/guy to see if we could race our buggies with the UTV's or in our own class.
Looks like a great track. next race july 21st 22nd http://www.edtracing.com/PineLake.html" ."..

Talked to Bud Fischer today. He is very open to and very familiar with Pilot racing. Said it fizzled out in the early 90's. He said the Pilots used to start 10 wide and his track is plenty wide for "safe" landrush starts into the first high banked corner.
Bud said he has a group of older 3-wheeler racers set to race also. Pilots and Odysseys would make for a retro weekend.
If we can get at least 6-8 buggies to commit he will give us our own class and let us all race both days to give the crowd a good show.
The main show will be about 300 short course/flat track style atv racers. Also a UTV class.
He wants to discuss this more after the holiday so lets gauge some interest before then. Thanks

Wow 7 hrs 36 min drive for me. Wish it was the week end after the 21 also why is it 2 days.
Make sure we know the rules on saftey ...fire suit? I do not want to buy three suits to race.
If I commit that will be 4 racers, but need more info

Heats and consi's saturday afternoon. Mains on Sunday. Event is 300+ quads.
He maybe flexible and let us run the 2 heats/same day just like NOORA
Bud said probably not going to run hare scrambles, due to lack of rain.
He said he only answers the phone number weekdays/business hours. Never asked about safety rules.

These are the general rules at NOORA along with a safety inspection.
I suspect Pine lake will be similar but will verify and post.

STADIUM LITES/PILOTS

STADIUM LITES

*Fuel tanks must be safe in design and monuting, safety committee has final ruling

*Fire suit recommended, but not required, long pants and long sleeved shirts required

*Must have working breaking system

*Chasiss must be designed to adequately protect driver

Spoke with Bud this afternoon.

Bud states the safety rule are the same as NOORA; nets or wrist restraints, long sleeves gloves, helmet, goglges...

Bud is real flexible and will work with us up to the last minute. He said Sunday is more flexible and would work better if we wanted to only make it a one day affair for the Pilot crowd.

Bud has the 3 wheeler racers coming from as far away as California for 3 classes which will make for a great retro weekend.

I told him we weren't really interested in any money just fun.

He said the land rush start is 90 ft wide and starts on pavement.

So now how many are interested?

Come on out team DNF and team OPR.

I talked to Dan Barkley this morning he is interested in ben and chris racing, and calling others in Ohio.
Sorry you cannot pull it together Justin. You could come watch; should be fun.
Dan said the track is mostly hard pack and track type tires work better.
Also talked to a kid named Tucker who wants to race and lives near the Barkleys.
So new list:

1) Renegadevtwin: and The HMF Revolt
2) Odypilots with one buggy
3&4) Tenatively Ben & Chris B. with their Pilots
5) Tenatively- Tucker (ctucker333) the 14 year old and his Pilot

Tucker details are still up in the air. Probably arrive in morning, practice late morning and race whenever Bud can fit us in in the afternoon.

Dan has known the owner since way back hope he can pull some string and get Sat.

5 pilots, 1 revolt and 4 350's...11 buggys on that track should be interesting

I can make it either day. Sunday was suggested as idea by Bud for a one day option.
Saturday he runs the heat races for the 300plus TT- ATV guys and the 3 classes of 3 wheelers.
Mains only on Sunday so less busy.

Card Counter: Do you have all 4 350's ready?
My thought is if you guys commit to drive all that way with 4 machines then lets race Saturday.
If team DNF Hailing from Maryland passes on this then lets race Sunday.

I will let you guys hash it out now.
Bud stated the start is 90 ft wide and they used to start the Pilots 10 wide.
