Hi guys I have a pre-recall Engine for sale. The Engine comes with lowerend cases with bearings and seals ,rare stock art 80mm piston with rings stock 80mm bore cylinder and stock straight fin head. This Engine looks to only have been ran a few times. There is no carbon build up in the exhaust port or on top of the piston. The cylinder walls show no wear as well. I have plenty of stock engines and need to thin my hoard for more room and money for a new project. Looking to get 350 shipped for this setup

During the recall, they "got their ass to Mars!" LOL

Honda sleeved down the cylinder to 78.5mm

The post recall Engine was a 78.5 mm bore with a flat top piston, a thicker head gasket and a smaller exhaust port. You can see in my picture how large and square the exhaust port is and the round dome shape top of the piston. Only the weisco pistons are shaped like that now

To further add to Rusty's info, here's the diff between the 2.

1st Edition Ody had 80 x 68mm (3.15 x 2.68 in) bores.
Displacement 342cc (20.9 cu in) BIG huh? :-)
Compression Ratio 6.7:1

2nd Post recall Ody:
78.5 x 68mm (3.09 x 2.68 in)
Displacement 329.1cc (20.08 cu in)Monster cubes.
Compression Ratio 6.0:1

This info comes from my 2 different Ody Manuals.
1 is the 350 Ody '85 manual,2nd is called the '85 2nd Edition.

For the record,my 1st Ody was the orig straight fin head.
NEVER had ANY issues with it over the 3-4 years of owning it.
It was used by anyone and everyone at Lancelin Dunes Downunder,in very hot, soft sand conditions.
Used to camp there over the weekends, nearly every weekend when the weather(and body) was good.
It never had a rest poor thing.Soon as one Mate, kid, missus finished thrashing it and brought back into into camp, the next jumped in while the Engine still running for another BLATT!
When I ended up selling it,was just as strong as when I 1st got it!
Most reliable Buggy ever owned.
Reason for all this I believe, was because I ALWAYS used 20:1 ratio as the sticker said.
Makes ya wonder HOW many people ACTUALLY stuck to this????
This is why I'm surprised to see/hear the bad rap on the straight fin model.
My experience could NOT be happier! :-)
