High Temp Silicone Sealer by hoser..
I have had a lot of people tell me over the years that using high temp silicone sealer to
seal the exhaust on a 2 cycle engine don't work, here are the pictures on my exhaust
after a full season of riding.

If applies right there is no leakage.
The brown stuff you see under the exhaust port is dirt that the garden hose and pressure washer
didn't get because the pipe when installed blocks that area.
I guess the trick is to make sure the sealing surface is real clean before applying the silicone
I use a stainless steel wire brush about the size of a tooth brush and carb cleaner to
clean the mating surfaces then I allow it to dry for 24 hrs before cranking or starting the
engine, if you start it just long enough for the engine to fire it will leak so don't waste your
time with the silicone if your not going to allow it to fully cure.
