I figured I would take some pictures wile I had the seat out, knowing that Donnie had had problems with this engine seizing I took it apart for inspection everything looked good except the needle inside the carb looked questionable, the carb was a 38mm Mikuni I have never been fond of the Mikuni carbs so replaced this one with a 35mm Keihin off of a 85 ATC250R, the jetting is still stock. Donnie said he had problems with the head bolts coming loose so I left the cover off the head and without coolant so I could heat cycle the engine a few times and then torque the head bolts a second time, I see that their is holes drilled through the head of the bolts so I will safety wire them before installing the cover and adding water. The cheap clear fuel line will be removed and replaced with more dependable automotive gas line as soon as I am comfortable with the routing and fuel delivery, remember this carb was designed to used as a gravity feed carb not pressure feed, I looped the gas line up a ways then installed a T before the carb, the fuel fills about 8" of line above the carb then the rest spills over into the gas tank through the factory line by the gas cap.
