Piston Prep by hoser.. Here is a new piston anywhere you have the cast look meet the machine surface you will have a sharp edge, some of these will cut you if you were to drag your finger over the edge. Here is a important edge every time the piston will travel down it could scrape the oil off of almost 1/2 of the cylinder (both skirts need done)
Here you have the same problem top and bottom so it can have a effect in either direction.
This piston had had that edge removed.
I will clean out all the casting flaws in the window, I don't make it larger just make full use of the hole provided.
The edge is removed around the window.

Comments from Sainity about piston prep..... "Your piston prep is spot on. All new pistons require the sharp edges taking off. Around the base of the piston skirt I put a 0.5mm chamfer. A lot of my pistons have the crowns cut to give me a better squish angle and a more flat top piston, so whilst in the lathe they get a full deburring. Later Sainty."
