I am trying to rebuild this FL400 motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) but I cannot find any info on the clutch. I need to find a puller. I might have to make one myself. Any info would greatly be appreciated. Thanks

If you look at mine there is a big nut that has a thread on the inside which is used for the puller bolt

In lieu of a puller, can the water method by used if you can get the Pilot on it's side or at least 45-50 degrees?

It looks like mine is missing that center nut. What does the center nut i. The pic do? Is that just the puller or is that supposed to be attached to the clutch all the time?

I have a bolt that threads into the center of my clutch. I just need to make a push rod long enough to puch against the crank. Theoretically that should work to pull the clutch off correct? Then What do I use to mount the clutch Back on?

Also the flywheel puller for the FL400 pilot the same as any other flywheel puller for any other model?

The centre nut actually holds the clutch together without it the clutch would not work or worse if you tried it like that it would fly apart when you started the Engine
Did you buy the Engine or buggy with that clutch on it
Was the buggy running when you bought it or was it just a roller
Or maybey the boLt had worked it self loose and fallen out on the trail
Either way im pretty sure you would need that bolt in the clutch so you can screw the clutch puller bolt into
If you like i can pull mine out so you can see what it looks like
Let me know if you need any other information
Good luck ,hope this helps

As Danno said, just find a bolt that will thread into the black bolt in these & Danno's pics, (same clutch :-) ) and then just use a cut down punch as a spacer to remove it, or at least that's what I did when that Quick Shift was on my daughters Ody.
I hope this helps

Thanks for all the info guys!

The pilot has ran this way with no nut on the end of the clutch for years now. We have had this thing for at least 4 years.

Any idea where I can get the nut and puller for this? Or should I just get a comet clutch or something? I am on a tight budget on this rebuild.

So what did you do about this clutch? Did you find a nut and a puller?
