Stop laughing.
I know I'll never find one on here. Not like anyone had one just sitting around but I had to give it a shot.
I need an input/driven clutch shaft for my 2003 Drakart extreme. Mine is bent.
I've contacted Drakart but haven't heard back yet, can't see them being much help.
So if you know someone who knows someone else who knows a guy who used to have one I'd be intrested. Lol. Now u can laugh. I am.

Contact Lin gear in Oregon,
Send them your old shaft, they can make you a new one, and even heat treat it..
I've had them make me gears for my quaif reverse box.

What did it run you to have you're gears made? I know every part cost will vary and if you have to ask you can't afford it but I was just curious.
Thanks Edd

Got the shaft out and took it to a performance shop here in town to straighten. It was off by .0035. Bent. Hope they can get it done.

Sorry for the late response.
I don't have the invoice handy but it was $138 each.
They were hardened all I sent them was the flange that came
From the box (so they could match the splines) and told them
What the tooth count was and chain type.
They fit perfect. I think I have pics someplace that was years ago but
I did contact the person I delt with recently (year or 2) to possibly
Have another set made.
Never went through with it though I sold the box.
But at least he said the price would he similar.

Thank you. That's not bad at all. If something goes wrong with them straightening mine I will be sure to use them.
I appreciate you're time.

That's kind of what I was thought.
Three thou could be bearing clearance.

When idleing you could watch the driven clutch bolt wobble, that was my first clue.
I set the shaft on two Vee blocks and measured it. The closer you got to the middle the more it was off. Near the ends was .001 and went all the way to .0035 as you moved down the shaft. The worst bend was just inside the end of where the driven clutch would ride.001 is with in tolerance.
.0035 might not seem like much but at 7500rpms it is.
Guess I could have just half assed it and let the next guy worry about it.

Ok, sounds good.

But if the bolt end is only running out .001 you wouldn't see the bolt wobbling around, its probably bent more than you think.

You cant mount the shaft between centers or V-block, you have to mount it similar to the way it mounts in the trans.

Are you selling it?

With both ends of the shaft supported by Vee blocks and set level I used a heavy based machinist height adjustable dial gauge set up. I took measurements every inch and marked the low side as I went. If the center is off .0035 that will show up on the end of the shaft.the further out you get from the bend the more noticeable it would be. If the shaft was only supported in the middle the wobble would be approximately 50% less but the shaft is supported on one end.
I'm not some bozo that doesn't know how to check if a shaft is bent. Even if I was unable to check it my eyes don't lie. A wobble is a wobble. And when it's enough to keep working the boomerang bolt loose it's too much.
No I'm not looking to sell. I'd want too much for it.

I thought you were trying to say it wasn't bent. I agree in a machinest hands the bend may be more.

No, no, no, i'm not arguing with you.

I believe you and not questioning your abilities at all.

What I'm trying to say is, you have to support the shaft the way it is supported in the trans to really measure the runout.

Is it supported at both ends in the trans?

Support it where the bearings mount and then measure runout.

I might be too sensitive some times. I didn't mean to be snippy.
I took it to a local performance shop to be straitened. They do crankshafts so they said it would be no issue, but they made no guarantees which is understandable.
Said it would be Monday before they got to it. They didn't specify which Monday. Lol
I see what you are saying,I could have stuck the trans end in my mill and checked it that way ( not running) but it never crossed my mind.I'm no machinest, just a guy with a wide variety of tools and an active imagination.
I will keep that idea in my mind for future reference.
