The armature needs turned for sure, unfortunetely you cant turn one of these very easy. The com is very thin and you cant cut it on a lathe. You should have the armatature put in a lathe and carefully sanded as flat from end to end and as round as possible without going through he copper.

If you install your new brushes on that armature they will wear much quicker then they should.

I am sure their is a local alternator and starter rebuilder in your town that would do it for a few bucks if you don't have access to a lathe.

ironically I use my drill press as a poor man's press.
It slides on nicely if I use the chuck to press the outside of the bearing down.
Or I've used a socket that fits perfect and the drill press chuck to apply the pressure.

since i have a new starter in it hasnt been a big priority..hope to get to it this weekend.have to locate a puller to get that bearing off..that's one thing i don't have...been out tearing up the track and the fields around my property though..with this string of warm weather the boys wanted to get the quads out which means i was forced to get the odyssey out. pretty muddy :) got lots of pics! maybe ill post a couple this evening.

I picked up the puller from AutoZone, or whatever they are these days. I think most places like that and NAPA have the loner tools and you just give them a security deposit
