I am going to sell my 89 Pilot. Its not a beauty queen. Its got scars and some cracked plastic but the plastic is all there. You will not be afraid to take this machine out and have fun with it. The chassis itself is stock all round but the
motor ((
Internal Combustion Engine ? )) has a port job on it and the machine comes with two pipes. A hi rev pipe and a torque pipe. (The high rev pipe had cracked due to the balancer being in wrong but I have corrected the balancer issue. Hoser had fixed the pipe for me. I did have it touched up again where it cracked in a different area which led me to inspect the balancer after seeing other Pilots motors at Silver lake that did not shake anywhere like my motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) did. The place that did my motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) somehow got this timing off. ((Thanx PCP!!!)) It has a 41mm flatslide Mikuni carb with the powerjet system (You can change top end jets in under two minutes from the top backside of the carb. Not as nice as "Dial a jet" but still far better than having to yank the carb off. Has reeds and a reed spacer (The reed spacer was more to allow the 41mm carbs float bowl to clear the starter without rubbing). There is also a CR250 intake manifold that makes inserting the larger carb many times easier than stock (Thanx Hoser! for the line on this manifold.)
It also has a Comet 102 drive clutch on it. The silver tube you see in the pics is due to the fact that the machine has a four inch hole in the airbox lid for breathing. When open straight up a lot of sand would end up in there. The tube cut this amount down considerably. I am asking $4700.00 for ALL my pilot stuff. That includes that machine. Two spare ported cylinders. (one has NEVER had a fire in it) Pistons for these spare cylinders. Heads for all the cylinders and a spare stock head that's unmolested (it looks nearly like new) for a total of four heads. The (stockish) dirt tires and a set of sand paddles for the rear (no front sand tires available(from me anyways)) It also includes a Honda Service manual and a bunch of spare top end gaskets and a new spare aircleaner. I also have a spare rear suspension rod and a few other misc parts. I will sell JUST the Pilot without the spare parts for $4000.00 (that's no extra pipe, no sand paddles, no spare cylinders/pistons/heads etc. We can work our way towards a center point if you only wanted some of the extra parts.
I live near the Silver Lake sand dunes in Michigan (North of Muskegon about 25 miles) A person can come to my house or I can meet them in the sand dunes or I can take them out into the dunes in my truck to try it there.
I am looking to sell this as I wish to buy a newer (to me) and better transportation car. I "may" be interested in a partial trade for a fat tired street legal motor (( Internal Combustion Engine ? )) bike or a certain kind of recumbent (recumbant?) bike or trike (I want a full recumbent) Contact me if your interested.
