I emailed the ebay seller selling the fmf a couple days ago,he hasnt answered.Im guessing you have to make a bent pipe to attach to silencer and weld it? I don't have a welder
I also thought about using this silencer
http://www.ebay.com/itm/180642540637?ss ... 1423.l2649
Were all familiar with this one the guy made for the fl350.I emailed him also and havent heard back
The stock silencer wont fit over the end of my pipe,I'm thinking about grinding the inside of pipe on stock silencer to try and make it work

Thanks for the tip
I've modified the stock silencer to fit, needed something by Sat so I made it work
I don't believe Ive ever seen it discussed here, but is there an advantage to using aftermarket silencer opposed to stock?
Ive seen a lot of discussions on pipes but not silencers
I see a lot of different opinions when I google it
When you see someone say i want to do a performance upgrade to my pilot no one ever chimes in change the silencer! :-)

i'm using a pro circuit cr500 silencer on mine.
I would think that the stock muffler is too restrictive to get the full benefits of an aftermarket pipe.
It would be interesting to see, but you would probably get more out of a stock pipe and aftermarket silencer than an aftermarket pipe and stock muffler.

Maybe? We will probably never know :-)
Never seen this topic discussed before on any forum, never saw a post on here about putting a different silencer on stock exhaust

I know its a different vehicle, but there are old reports that the FL350 outperformed some of the aftermarket complete exhaust systems using the stock expansion chamber and an aftermarket silencer. I believe it was Kleem Research who made the silencer. I actually have one that I am going to put on the wife's stock expansion chamber.

I was remembering it the other way around
I thought I had read it was aftermarket pipe with stock silencer

Nope, the aftermarket silencer is very restrictive. The outlet size is pretty small and if I remember right, there are baffles inside the silencer which actually have the exhaust changing direction within the silencer itself.

One of these days I'll hook up my Kleem silencer to the stock expansion chamber I have and give it a true test.... is it just a noise gain or is there a true performance gain?

I'm still on the lookout for aftermarket silencer but I wasn't going to have one here in time for ride saturday. And I'm still trying to get some tires but that's another thread
Once I get another silencer I'll see if I can tell a difference

Got silencer in Monday, put it on today and THERE does seem to be a difference between the stock and aftermarket silencer.Got the pipe and silencer from socalgi, who I highly recommend if you need a part.I don't know who makes this silencer,I didnt see a name on it

Check the packing before installing?

Kinda looks like a ear bleeder std. power pros silencer not the "quiet silencer" they use to offer.
